On overview of all important steps beginning with the arrival at the airport to boarding:
Arrive 1-2 hours before departure (depending on the destination)
(Some airports have security controls at the entrance: the baggage is scanned, passengers have to pass through detectors)
Check-in and baggage drop-off: If you haven’t checked-in online already, you must go to the airline counter to get your boarding pass and drop-off your baggage.
Your boarding pass allows you access to the restricted area of Duty-free shops and gates.
Passport control
Security control at the gate: Your hand baggage will be scanned again and you have to pass through the detectors. You are not allowed to pass the security control with any type or amount of liquid than those that are allowed in your hand luggage.
At the gate, you will either have direct access to the plane, or you will be driven there by bus.
