Passengers under two years are considered babies. They travel in the same seat as one of their parents. A baby flight ticket costs around 10% of an adult ticket. If a passenger flies out as a baby but has their second birthday before the return flight and therefore returns as a child, the return ticket has to be booked for a child, as well. Passengers between two and twelve years are considered children. If a child has their 12th birthday before the return flight, the return ticket must be booked for an adult. It is also important to note that children are not allowed to travel alone, but they have to be accompanied by an adult. Please check if your airline offers an unaccompanied minor service before you book a flight for a child who must travel alone. Lastly, all passengers that are older than 12 years qualify as adults.
