Information about Bangkok Airways flights

Bangkok Airways Flight Ticket

Bangkok Airways was founded in 1968 as Sahakol Air, becoming the first private airline in Thailand. Its headquarters is located in Bangkok, and scheduled flights have been operated since 1986. It offers important services from Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Bangkok Airways currently serves over 20 destinations within Thailand and operates three of its own airports, including Koh Samui, Trat, and Sukhothai. International flights are operated to countries such as Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, China, and Japan. Bangkok Airways has codeshare agreements with renowned airlines such as Cathay Pacific, Qantas Airways, and Malaysia Airlines. In 2018, the Middle Eastern airline Oman Air also became a partner of Bangkok Airways.

The Bangkok Airways fleet consists of a total of 37 aircraft, including Airbus A319, Airbus A320, and ATR 72 (as of September 2017). The airline refers to itself as "Asia's Boutique Airline" and is known for its exceptional services and exotic destinations. All passengers can enjoy complimentary snacks and a wide selection of beverages in the Boutique Lounges. For passengers in the new Business Class, the Boutique Lounges of the Blue Ribbon Club are available. These lounges feature specially designed chandeliers, shower and massage rooms, and a library. Bangkok Airways even offers meal services on short-haul flights.

With Bangkok Airways' Flyer Bonus loyalty program, passengers can earn miles and redeem them with participating airlines and hotel chains. Depending on the membership tier (Priority or Premier), passengers receive additional baggage allowances, exclusive waiting areas, and fast check-in. Due to its excellent service, Bangkok Airways has been repeatedly honored at the Skytrax Awards. In 2017, it received the prestigious awards for "Best Regional Airline in the World" and "Best Regional Airline in Asia".

Bangkok Airways Online Check-In

Passengers of Bangkok Airways can check-in online up to 24 hours before their flight. Online check-in is available for free via a computer or mobile app and can be done up to one hour before the scheduled departure time. Passengers can download their boarding passes to their mobile phones and use them as a barcode, print them at home, or obtain them at self-service kiosks at the airport. Self-service kiosks are available at airports such as Bangkok and Samui. Traditional check-in counters are also available at all times.

Passengers also have the option to check-in by phone via the Bangkok Airways telephone hotline up to 2 hours before the flight. Passengers traveling with Bangkok Airways on international flights should be at the airport no later than 90 minutes before the flight and carry their flight ticket or boarding pass, passport, and any required visa documents.

Bangkok Airways Baggage

The baggage regulations of Bangkok Airways vary depending on the passengers' booking class. Economy class passengers have a baggage allowance of 20 kg per person. In Premium Economy class, this limit is increased to 30 kg, while passengers in the Blue Ribbon or Business class are allowed to carry up to 40 kg. Children under 2 years old have a baggage allowance of 10 kg regardless of the travel class. Additional baggage incurs fees that vary depending on the flight duration, distance, and weight. A single piece of baggage with Bangkok Airways must not exceed a weight of 32 kg and should not exceed the standardized baggage dimensions.

Passengers of Bangkok Airways can also bring special items such as bicycles, fishing equipment, golf equipment, or bowling equipment, wheelchairs and strollers under certain rules and restrictions.
