From the airport to the city centre

There are a total of three airports in Paris, two large and one small. These are Charles de Gaulle Airport, also known as Roissy, Orly Airport and Beauvais Airport. Transportation from all airports is quite easy, but it makes sense to know in advance which one to go to and how to get there to avoid any chaos. With the Paris Visite Pass, which is very useful for city traffic, you can use unlimited daily public transport and you can get a discount on some tourist destinations.

Charles de Gaulle (Roissy) Airport

The CDG coded airport is the largest airport in the city, known locally as Roissy. This is usually organized by international airlines. Roissy is located in the north of the city and is approx. 30 km from the centre. You can get transportation between the 3 terminals at the airport using the free shuttle trains called CDGAL.

RER (Train)

RER is one of the most widely used methods for airport transportation. You can reach the city centre in around 40 minutes from the RER stop at Terminal 3 at the airport. The TGV trains at Terminal 2 are on the other side of the street.

Taxi

If you are looking for a quick and comfortable alternative to transportation, you can opt for a taxi. However, you may have to pay extra for luggage. Depending on the taxi, you can reach the city centre in 35-45 minutes.

Bus

If you've bought a cheap Paris flight ticket, you can use public transport to get to the city centre. From Terminal 2 you can choose the Air France shuttle bus, which leaves every 30 minutes and reaches the city in 50 minutes. About 1 hour from Terminals 1, 2 and 3 you can use the Roissy bus alternative to reach the city centre. Noctilien buses will become your public transport choice once you land at the airport overnight. Bus lines 350, 351 and 19 are preferred for transit journeys.

Rent a car

If you want to travel with a car in Paris, you can visit the car rental companies at the airport. However, access to Parisian streets and tourist attractions is not very convenient. We therefore advise you to take the metro, buses, bicycles or hiking, which offer you the most economical and almost all-round access to city traffic.

Orly Airport

Orly Airport is a landing place mainly for low-cost airlines. For example, if you are thinking of booking the cheapest Paris flight, you will likely land at Orly Airport. There are two terminals for western flights and international flights for domestic flights. You have several alternatives to get from the airport to the city centre.

Train

If you want to get to the city centre by public transport, the Orlyval train, which is connected to the RER, will be suitable. The other alternative on the rail system is tram number 7.

Bus

You can choose Orlybus buses, which travel approximately 20 minutes from Denfert-Rochereau train station to the city centre. Your other alternative for the bus is the moving Air France buses about every 30 minutes. With these buses it is possible to go to Roissy or to the train stations.

Taxi

You can choose a taxi for a quick and comfortable Paris trip. We recommend that you find out the fare by asking the distance before driving.

Rent a car

If you want to travel with your own car you can visit the car rental companies in Orly Airport. There is an early booking option on the internet to save time.

Beauvais Tille Airport

Beauvais is the airport at the furthest point of the city and where both low takeoff and domestic flights are made. If you want to fly to Paris, your plane will fly to either of the other two airports, not here.

Train

Beauvais train station is close to the airport. To get there you have to take a bus or taxi ride which takes about 15 minutes. It takes about 1 hour to get to Paris by train.

Bus

You can choose to go straight to Paris or to the train station.

Taxi & Car rental

Choosing a taxi to get into the city centre is an expensive alternative. Instead, you may prefer to use a taxi to get to the train station; if you want to rent a car, you can visit the offices at the airport.

Shuttle Buses

If you want to get away from the airport, you can choose these vehicles to get to the train station.
