Venice is considered one of the most romantic cities in the world and, as the city of lovers, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Italy. This city is one of the most interesting cities in the world with its water canals and historical buildings. There are around 150 canals and 400 bridges in Venice and the city is made up of 118 islands. In the city called the island city, the islands are connected by bridges. The most famous of these bridges is the Rialto Bridge. This bridge can be seen in many of the Venice photos. The largest canal in the city is the Great Canal with a length of 3800 meters. Don't miss the opportunity to visit this place on your Venice flight!
One of the most popular tourist excursions in Venice is a gondola ride in the canals. In Venice, which is under the protection of UNESCO, there are countless artifacts with 600 years of history. The city occasionally experiences flooding caused by excessive rainfall. Even the famous St. Mark's Square is flooded during these floods. Glass figurines and Venetian masks are very well known in the city. Venice plane tickets are recommended to get to know this mystical place.

From the airport to the city center
Venice has Marco Polo and Treviso airports. However, almost all flights, including those buying Venice plane tickets, depart from Marco Polo Airport. The airport was named after the famous Italian traveler Marco Polo. This airport is the fifth airport with the most flights in Italy. You can get to the city center from Marco Polo Airport by bus, taxi, sea bus, water taxi and car rental.
From Marco Polo Airport, you can get to the city center with municipal ACTV buses or privately operated ATVO buses. Buses run between Rome Square and Marco Polo Airport daily from 4:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. The drive from the airport to the city center takes around 25 minutes. Tickets are available from the machines at the airport. The first bus leaves Marco Polo Airport at 7:50 a.m. and the last one at 11:50 p.m.
Sea buses, called vaporetto in Italy, are operated by the Alinlunga Company. If you want to take the sea buses into the city, you will first enjoy the air of Venice. Which of these vehicles you will take, which run on three separate lines, blue, red and orange, will depend on the route you will be driving. For this reason, before landing at the airport, it makes sense to find out where you are staying, which line to take and at which stop you have to get off at the hotel. The journey takes longer in sea buses than in land buses. The sea bus ride into town takes more than an hour, depending on where you get off. Tickets are available at the airport landing terminal. It is possible to reach the bus stop on foot in ten minutes from the terminal exit.
A taxi company, Radio Taxi, operates at Marco Polo Airport. It is possible to get to the city center faster by making a reservation with the company before landing.
Water taxis are the most stylish and expensive way to get from the airport to Venice. Reserving these taxis that operate through the canal in advance may result in a reduction in fares. Water taxis cost twice as much as regular taxis. To travel to this diverse metropolis, you can search for and book the cheapest Venice flight tickets with martiGO.
Car Rental Companies
There are local and international car rental companies that offer car rental services at the Marco Polo Airport arrivals terminal. You can use rental cars from Europcar, Avis, Maggiore, Sixt, Hertz, Autoeuropa, AutoviA, Lacauto. However, renting a car is not attractive to people driving into central Venice. Vehicles are not allowed in the center of Venice. The rented vehicles must be parked in the parking lot at Rom Square.
